HMD Global launches new Nokia 6310, 5310 & 230 feature phones – only support 2G network

Finnish company, HMD Global, took over the Nokia brand in 2016. The company has been doing all it can to bring Nokia back to its glory days. Back in the day, Nokia was one of the best mobile phone brands for feature phones. However, as we entered the smartphone era, the company lost touch with the fast trend and was left behind. However, in recent times, Nokia has not only had decent success with smartphones, but it is also bringing back some of its iconic feature phones. Today, Nokia released three new 2G feature phones. These devices are the 2024 Nokia 6310, 5310 and 230 phones. All three feature phones come with a UNISOC 6531F processor and USB Type-C interface.

In 2017, Singapore and Taiwan shut down the 2G network while Australia shut down the network in 2018. Thus, if you are going to buy this device, please ensure that your region still supports a 2G network.

Nokia 6310 (2024): A Modern Take on a Classic Design

The Nokia 6310 (2024) is reminiscent of the classic Nokia 6000 series. This series was notable for its conservative, unisex designs and wide range of features. The 6000 series was popular among business users and included phones with Symbian systems.

The Nokia 6310 (2024) is also similar to the Nokia 6310 (2021). The 2021 version featured a 2.8-inch QVGA screen with a resolution of 320 x 240 pixels and a 0.3-megapixel camera. It ran on Symbian and had no access to modern apps or an app store. The Nokia 6310 (2024) is a reimagined version of the original Nokia 6310, which was released in 2001. The updated version brings back memories of the original model, which had a cult following during its heyday. The reboot, made by HMD Global, takes some design elements from the classic phone and remodels them for the newer generation. The new version has a bigger screen and a slightly different layout of the buttons, but the same long battery life and solid build as the original.
