While the Google Play Store is basically a treasure trove of apps, it can be quite hard to find the right apps for your needs. To make things easier, Google already has a lot of great resources. That includes new releases, monthly editorial picks, and a kid-friendly program that contains teacher-approved apps.
But it seems Google was not happy with all of those. Now, it’s planning to bring the Shorts-style series into the Google Play Store to highlight the latest and greatest Android apps. Similar to Shorts on other platforms, these videos on the app store could indeed make it easier to discover hard-to-find hidden gems.

The new video series will be called “The Play Report.” It will help you find the apps and games on the Google Play Store that you may like. This series will highlight all the new releases, top picks, and hidden gems. And the great part is Google’s editorial team will be curating all of them.
Regarding where the Shorts-like videos will be on the Google Play Store, they will be on the top of the homepage. The experience will be very similar to YouTube Shorts that appear on the homepage of YouTube on a desktop. Also, there will be multiple episodes available for each series.

All of those episodes inside the Google Play Store will be hosted by “expert voices, from creators to Googlers.” Currently, only the announcement videos are available in the app store. However, Google says that new episodes will be soon land on the platform over the next few weeks.
