WhatsApp is about to add yet another exciting feature for all users. This upcoming feature introduces a new way to share media files. According to WABetaInfo, this new feature will help users send media files like videos, images and GIFs in a more organized manner. This is because the instant messaging app is about to receive enhance media picker which comes with numbered thumbnails.
Thanks to this new feature, users can now be able to organize their media files well before sharing them to other users. At the moment, it is only available to some Beta testers. Beta testers will get a first-hand experience of the feature that allows tracking the order of media files that they send.
How Does this New WhatsApp Feature Work?
At the moment, if you want to send multiple media files to another contact, WhatsApp allows you to mark multiple items and share them all simultaneously. However, trying to send these files in an organized way becomes a headache. This is because it becomes quite difficult to know which item you selected first. WhatsApp is about to take away this struggle by introducing numbers to each item selected.

For example, the first media file you select will be marked as 1, with the second one getting marked as 2 and so on. This will make it very easy for the user to know the order through which they want to send their media files. The new update will assign these numbers to each media thumbnail that the user selects for easier recognition. This will also allow users to easily know the number of media files they are sharing instead of relying on their memory.
Availability of the New WhatsApp Media Sharing Feature
As we have already highlighted, the new feature is now available to some Beta testers. In the coming days, Meta will extend the reach to more testers. If all goes well, we will all experience this new feature on our devices in a few weeks’ time.
