Samsung Galaxy S23 128GB model leaks – only use UFS 3.1 flash memory

According to early reports, the  Galaxy S23 / Ultra series will come with faster LPDDR5X memory and UFS 4.0 storage. However, according to recent reports, the standard model of the Galaxy S23 (basic storage option) will be an exception. The Samsung Galaxy S23 base version will continue to come with 128GB of storage. There will be an option to upgrade it to a 256GB version at a higher price. According to @IceUniverse, the Samsung Galaxy S23 Standard Edition 128GB will be equipped with UFS 3.1 flash memory. This will make its read and write speeds lower than other models of UFS 4.0 flash memory.

The latest LPDDR5X memory is a low-power memory standard for mobile phones, tablets and laptops. It supports data transfer speeds of up to 8533Mbps, 33% faster than the fastest LPDDR5 memory. The UFS 4.0 memory chip provides a sequential data read speed of up to 4200MB/s and a sequential write speed of up to 2800MB/s. This is twice the speed of UFS 3.1 storage, which offers sequential read speeds of up to 2100MB/s and sequential write speeds of up to 1200MB/s. The UFS 3.1 storage speed varies by capacity, and the sequential write speed of the 128GB chip version is 850MB/s.

The combination of a new generation of chips (Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 For Galaxy), new memory (LPDDR5X) and new storage (UFS 4.0) will bring huge performance improvements to the Galaxy S23 series. The improvements will probably reflect in the mobile phone start-up speed, app and game launch as well as multitasking and game running figures.
