Samsung Galaxy S22 Series update with fix for performance throttling rolling out in India

The Galaxy S22 series in India is receiving a new update that allows users to sort of disable the Game Optimization Service (GOS). The same update has already been rolled out in South Korea and Europe and it’s great to see Indian users getting treated to it as well.

The update, which comes with firmware version S90xEXXU1AVC9, is being rolled out to the Galaxy S22, S22+, and S22 Ultra (via Sammobile). It also carries the latest March 2022 security patch, along with improvements to camera stability and device security.

To disable GOS after installing the update, you need to open up the Game Launcher and then head over to More > Game Booster > Labs where you’ll need to turn on Alternate game performance management.

’s CEO had apologized for the GOS debacle yesterday saying that they would “listen to customers more closely to prevent such an issue from happening again.”

The issue had turned into quite the bad rep for the company, with negative response coming not only from users but also Geekbench removing the Galaxy S10, S20, S21, and S22 series from its benchmarking charts.

is also said to be prepping a similar update for older Galaxy flagship tablets and smartphones.
