OnePlus Nord CE 3 Leaked Renders Reveal Significant Design Changes Compared to Predecessor

is working on its next Nord-branded smartphone. It is expected to be called the Nord CE 3. Now publication 91Mobiles in collaboration with reliable tipster Steve Hemmerstoffer has shared exclusive renders of the smartphone. Earlier this month, Onleaks had also leaked key specifications of the upcoming offering. The renders are based on the prototype unit and give us a good look at the device.

Right off the bat, the Nord CE 3 is seen with significant design changes compared to the Nord CE 2. The former has a centre-aligned punch-hole cutout for the front camera. The display is surrounded by thin bezels barring the slightly thicker bottom chin. The device sports a boxy form factor with the power button on the right side whereas the left edge houses volume rocker keys and a SIM tray slot. The power key could double up as a fingerprint scanner. The upcoming smartphone is also seen with flat sides instead of curved one as seen on the OnePlus X and some current iPhone models.

The back panel has two traditional camera rings devoid of any module. The top ring houses a single sensor whereas the bottom one accommodates two lenses. There is an LED flash placed beside. Connectivity-wise, there is a microphone on the top while the bottom edge has a speaker grille, USB-C port, and a headphone jack.

As per the leaked specifications, the Nord CE 3 is tipped to come with a 6.7-inch LCD display with a 120Hz refresh rate. The triple camera setup is said to comprise a 108MP primary sensor paired with two 2MP lenses. The device is rumoured to be powered by a Snapdragon 695 SoC coupled with up to 12GB RAM and 256GB storage. It will reportedly be backed by a 5,000mAh battery unit with support for 67W charging.

The Nord CE 3 is expected to launch in the first quarter of 2023 as the successor to the Nord CE 2
