New Pixel Buds Pro update to add Head tracking Spatial Audio

Spatial Audio, is a feature that makes surround sound audio more immersive on the Pixel Buds Pro and any wired (USB-C) headphones. This feature was recently added for owners of Pixel 6 or Pixel 7 series phones. In addition, has already stated that head tracking support for the Pixel Buds Pro should arrive shortly. Head tracking will enable spatial audio to respond to your movements.

After working on the feature by the 9to5 team, they were able to forcefully enable Google’s new Spatial Audio options page using a recent upgrade to the Pixel Buds app. On the “Device details” page for your headset on Pixel phones, it will show up as a new option. Also, the app’s settings include a demo that allows users to hear what the feature will sound like when active. You are reminded that the feature only functions with allowed content via a disclaimer at the bottom of the menu.

Pixel Buds Pro Head tracking feature

Head tracking Spatial Audio for Pixel Buds Pro coming soon

You may quickly activate or deactivate both Spatial Audio and the linked “Head tracking” feature from the new page. What makes this even more intriguing is how has carefully placed a demo clip directly above the two toggles. It will be a clear nature clip with symphonic music and bird noises spread out in various directions.

You’ll probably be able to flip between the Spatial Audio settings of the Pixel Buds Pro. Users will be able to hear the changes using the video as a baseline. Owners of Pixel Buds should find it simpler to decide whether Spatial Audio and head tracking are suited for them or whether they’d like to remain with classic stereo sound as a result.

It should not take too long for to officially launch head tracking Spatial Audio for the Pixel Buds Pro now that these new settings are reportedly ready. The most logical possibility would be the impending March Pixel Feature Drop. Although the most recent Pixel Buds upgrade was released in October, independent of any Pixel Feature Drop.
