Funny iPhone Robbery: Suspect Tries To Conceal Identity with Cardboard Box While Stealing iPhone

In a peculiar and funny incident at a phone repair shop in Miami Gardens, a suspect attempted to conceal his identity by wearing a cardboard box on his head while carrying out a robbery. However, his attempt quickly fell apart when the box slipped off as he smashed glass displays to steal iPhones, inadvertently exposing his identity.

The store owner revealed that the thief made off with 19 iPhones and a substantial sum of $8,000 in cash. The total value of the stolen goods and cash amounted to an estimated $15,000, as reported in the news.


However, in a twist of events, the thief inadvertently revealed his identity during the robbery. Caught on surveillance footage, the suspect lifted the cardboard box covering his head in an attempt to gain a better view of the targeted phones he intended to steal. This unexpected act of self-exposure provided a crucial clue for law enforcement in their investigation.

According to the store’s owner, the incident occurred at approximately 4 a.m. on Saturday, prompting him to review the surveillance footage. Upon recognizing the suspect’s face in the video, the owner took it upon himself to conduct a thorough investigation within the shopping plaza vicinity where his establishment is situated.

Following the identification of the suspect’s face on the surveillance video, the vigilant shop owner launched an investigation within the shopping plaza premises, urging residents to report any sightings of the culprit. In a fortunate turn of events, a tip was received indicating that the perpetrator was present at a neighboring liquor store, casually socializing with friends. 

Reacting swiftly, the shop owner, wasted no time in notifying the Miami Gardens Police Department, leading to the prompt arrest of the individual involved.
