Apple to launch a more powerful Mac mini and a 27-inch external display

The famous analyst Ming-Chi Kuo announced on his Twitter account that is currently working on a new generation of much more powerful, but above all more affordable Mac mini. This corroborates information from Bloomberg reporter Mark Gurman, who previously reported that Apple would unveil a new Mac mini with an M2 chip this year.

The new M2 chip should be unveiled at ’s Keynote tomorrow, Tuesday March 8, 2022. We could therefore discover the new Apple computer on this occasion. In addition to its Mac mini M2, Apple is even preparing a more powerful Mac mini with an M1 Pro chip, which can be found on the recent 14- and 16-inch MacBook Pros.

According to Ming-Chi Kuo, is also preparing a new 27-inch external display, almost 3 years after its last high-end Pro Display XDR model in 2019. We imagine that it will be a much more affordable model than the huge 32-inch 6K screen from Apple; which retails from 5,499 euros.

Unfortunately, the analyst does not give any information about the technical characteristics of the screen; except that it is not equipped with mini-LEDs. It would therefore be a classic LCD screen, which could be limited to a 4K or FHD definition. It could be presented alongside the Mac mini M2, the 13-inch MacBook M2, but also the iPhone SE 2022 during the event tomorrow.

Ming-Chi Kuo has already announced that will unveil a new Mac Pro and a new iMac Pro next year. The iMac Pro is expected to replace the 27-inch Intel-based iMac currently in the lineup; and be sold alongside the 24-inch desktop computer announced in April 2021. Meanwhile, Ross Young has previously said that the iMac Pro will feature a mini-LED display; and previous leaks suggest it will inherit the previous display’s design.
